Polifarma was founded in Istanbul in 1986 by Pharmacist Necdet Nuri Kumrulu, inspired by the question, “Why isn’t a local brand leading the pharmaceutical market?” Today, with nearly 40 years of experience, Polifarma is one of Türkiye’s leading manufacturers in the field of IV pharmaceuticals and infusion solutions. Our modern manufacturing facility, certified in accordance with European GMP standards, operates in Ergene, Tekirdağ, across a 62,000 m² indoor area.

Polifarma aims to create value for human health by developing innovative and sustainable solutions for hospital and retail pharmacy products. With a broad product portfolio across critical therapeutic areas such as parenteral nutrition, anesthesia, nephrology, oncology, infectious diseases, cardiology and rare diseases, as well as medical products, Polifarma exports to more than 50 countries.

Polifarma operates across a broad geography covering Europe, Asia, Africa and South America and is approved by international authorities including the UK MHRA, Australia’s TGA and the Bulgarian Ministry of Health.

In 2026, Polifarma was once again ranked among Türkiye’s top 10 pharmaceutical exporters in the “Stars of Export” list announced by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (İKMİB).

R&D and Innovation

Polifarma’s POL R&D Center, certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, ranks among the top 250 R&D institutions conducting the highest number of projects. Through pioneering projects such as Domestic Molecule Synthesis and Product Development for Rare Diseases, it has received prestigious awards including Altın Havan, Kristal Havan and Golden Pulse.

Completed in 2025 and covering approximately 11,000 m², our new facility is positioned as one of Türkiye’s most advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing and research centers. The facility has been designed with an integrated structure encompassing an advanced R&D center, modern packaging areas, raw material and pharmaceutical manufacturing zones, and administrative offices.

Placing R&D at the center of its strategy, Polifarma;

• Is one of the companies with the highest R&D expenditure,
• Is one of the institutions conducting the highest number of projects among certified R&D centers,
• Ranks among the top 50 companies employing the highest number of women in R&D.

The new facility will also house a GMP-certified Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) synthesis area, further strengthening Polifarma’s capabilities in high-quality pharmaceutical manufacturing. It will also serve as the center of the strategic project for the treatment of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), supported under the Ministry of Industry and Technology’s “Technology-Oriented Industry Initiative Program.”

As of 2025, Polifarma reached an important milestone in its journey of innovation by establishing Türkiye’s largest and most comprehensive R&D center.

At the same time, it continues to expand its presence in global markets by focusing on biosimilars, biotechnology products and medicines for rare diseases.
