The irrigation system is used for wound debridement. It is a sterile device system designed to perform irrigation, washing,
and debris removal (e.g., for soft tissue wounds or bone debridement, site cleaning, removal of bone cement residues) by spraying a sterile fluid (typically saline) in a pulsatile manner onto general soft tissue or orthopedic surgical sites. The system typically consists of a handpiece with an integrated battery-powered pump and irrigation/suction controls, a disposable battery pack, tubing, and detachable tips (applicators) in various shapes and sizes tailored to specific surgical applications. It combines energy delivery for effective pulsatile irrigation and debridement flow. The primary clinical field is orthopedics. It can be used for hip and knee or ostheses and trauma debridement. It may also be used in certain neurosurgical procedures upon request and is also applied in wound care for diabetic patients.
